About Me
Starting at the beginning is generally considered “the norm” for this kind of thing. Fortunately, the norm is not my comfort zone, if it were I wouldn’t be here writing an about me section for a personal website.
For too long I allowed my versatility to speak negatively of me. Now, I am at my most productive and valuable when I am using every one of my skills and experiences to achieve my outcomes and exceed the expectations of my clients and employers.
This isn’t a blog or even an advertisement. If I were advertising I’d employ someone better at it than I am. And then learn precisely how they did it so that I know for next time.
I’m a Brisbane girl, born and bred, aside from a few youthful adventurous years interstate seeking new knowledge and opportunities.
I’ve been involved in sport in some way for most of my life. The colour scheme of this site is even inspired by my mighty club, The Eastern Suburbs FC Tigers, where I have played football most years since 2001.
I love football so much that I wore a Manchester United jersey to a job interview (don’t hold it against me it was a gift from a beloved grandparent). Lucky for me the job was at a sports store and though I am certain I interviewed very well anyway, I still maintain that the jersey secured my employment. I stayed with the company for five years, moving from casual footwear salesperson to National Stock Control Officer and various store management positions in between before moving on to become a sales manager for a global footwear brand.
Motorsport began even earlier for me, some of my most vivid memories as a child were of Top Fuel Dragsters launching down the quarter mile at Willowbank Raceway or of Speedway Bikes tearing up the arena at Brisbane RNA Showgrounds.
It wasn’t until I’d matured into a young adult seeking a way to get into an IndyCar event without auctioning a limb that I discovered there may be opportunities within motorsport. Little did I know where this tiny realisation would eventually take me.
I sold tickets. I handed out flyers. I held signs. I held umbrellas. I attended functions. I ran merchandise stands. I looked after sponsors. Things were going well, if fun was what I sought. Let’s be honest, it certainly was, but I wasn’t entirely satisfied. Opportunity tapped me on the shoulder at the Gold Coast 600 in 2011. No really, Lachlan tapped me on the shoulder and introduced himself and not long after he offered me a job. A job I wasn’t necessarily qualified for but I had the ego of a woman in her twenties and nothing to lose so I dove right in.
To be continued….
How can I help you and your business?
Neither of us can know the answer until one of us asks the question. Click below to make the first move. Go on. Be bold.
Media
Having cut my teeth in the fastlane of the Australian Motorsport stage, I now take on small media tasks for small business and sport. Whilst still keeping at least one hand on the Motorsport wheel with major race events throughout the year.
Analysis
I’m no stranger to Microsoft Excel and the weird and wonderful things one can do with formulas and data. My favourite days are when I have a reason to learn or use a new function. Recently I began adding Microsoft SharePoint to my arsenal through Government works and am now embarking on studies in SQL.
Consulting
I’ve worked in Government, Sales, Retail, Administration and everything in between. I can offer consultation on creating and updating policy, sales process, administrative process, customer management and much more.
